Welcome

New training methods are essential for getting your body back to its best. Functional training improves strength, coordination, and movement, helping to prevent injuries and falls. Tools like resistance bands and kettlebells vary workouts and engage different muscle groups.

Through meditation, breathwork, and visualization, mindfulness and mental training boost focus, lower stress, and improve body awareness, strengthening the mind-body link during exercise.

In short, Ames Active’s method to restore peak function includes personalized assessments, functional exercises, mental training, and nutritional support. Whether recovering from an injury, managing weight gain, or starting after a break from physical activity, I’m here to help you rebuild your confidence and body on your terms.

  • A professional camera on a tripod recording a person walking past a brick building with windows.

    Virtual Online Training

It’s often not possible to work together in person. Sometimes the logistics do not work out, but online training can be a great solution when a focused one-to-one approach is needed. In addition, online training via video link enables regular sessions regardless of location (or pandemics!).

    Group Training Online:

Currently, Ames Active is holding one virtual “Balance By Design” class weekly. Students across the country attend and work on improving their balance, while also increasing their overall mobility and confidence. For more information on how to join on Mondays at 10:15, please reach out for more details.

    One to One In-Person Training

I work with a select number of clients on a one-to-one basis in Fairfield County CT, and surrounding areas, usually in a client’s home or local private gym /dance studio.
This is perfect for clients who need a focused, in-person approach to training, who value their time, and privacy, and who want to avoid overcrowded gyms.
